| ~ Jeffrey in "Twenty-four months" |
Jeffrey, commonly known as Jeff, is one of the main characters of EverymanHYBRID. He was the camera-man and co-creator of the EverymanHYBRID fitness series, along with his best friends Vincent and Evan.
Jeff was tortured and burned to death by HABIT in late 2012. However, he briefly reappeared in 2013 in an episode of TribeTwelve inside the Candleverse. Jeff then made another brief reappearance in 2018 in "The drive west.", but was most likely a fake apparition to lure Vinny. The real Jeff appeared in the final videos of the series, once again in the Candleverse.
History[]
2010[]
The Fitness Videos[]
Jeff, along with his friends Vincent and Evan decide to create a fitness channel on YouTube under the name EverymanHYBRID. Earlier in the year Jeff and his younger brother Alex's parents died, leaving him as Alex's guardian. Jeff functioned as the camera man for the fitness series. He was mostly behind the camera, though he did make on-camera contributions occasionally. The crew being fans of horror and internet pop culture, as well as wanting some more clicks, decided to include a friend dressed as Slenderman in their videos as an easter egg.
During "Episode 6 - Healthy Eating", the crew enter Evan's house where they find their friend Daniel getting ready for the next Slenderman appearance. The crew is confused, as they had seen someone dressed as Slenderman earlier and assumed it was Daniel. Out of nowhere the other Slenderman appears at the end of the hallway, inside Evan's parents' room. The door to the room closes shut on it's own and the boys break it down, though the Slenderman is nowhere to be seen. In the video "..." the crew is seen visibly confused, they believe that the other Slenderman was their friend Nick pulling a prank on them. Jeff says how he is okay with pranks, but thinks "Nick" took it too far as he did it in Evan's parents' room.
The crew later put up "Public Service Announcement", a video admitting where they admit their own prankery of including a fake Slenderman in the videos, but ask whoever is pranking them now to stop, and there will be no repercussions. Jeff specifically states that they are not done with the videos, and they will keep going. The crew announce a short break from the fitness videos, during which they film "A Day in the Life", a video of the HYBRIDs hanging out with Alex, Jessa, Jeff's girlfriend, and Ryan, a mutual friend, at Baldpate Mountain, a local park, all day.
The HYBRIDs then restart the series with a two part special on Sleeping and Dreams. Jeff and Vince try sleep deprivation on Livestream and come across a disturbing shrine with defaced photos from their "A Day in the Life" video, with writing asking them if they can "See The Words". Jeff initially wrote it off as being a prank played by his brother. Later on Evan is shown on the computer, reading a Tumblr blog called CanYouSeeTheWords. The blog turned out to be written by a young woman who made strange posts of writings and photos that have flood and water imagery. Eventually, EMH viewers were able to find she was an art student living not that far from where the HYBRIDs were living. Viewers eventually gave her the nickname Damsel, as she refused to give out her real name. Her posts alluded to her parents dying, and she hints Slenderman has been following her for a long time. Viewers asked about her connection with the EverymanHYBRID crew, but she claimed she didn't know them. Unbeknownst to the crew Damsel and Jessa were close friends.
"---" is posted showing the crew discussing whether to stop the fitness video series. Jeff and Vinny argue, with Jeff wanting to stop as it could get worse whilst Vinny wants to continue as they are just "two little accidents", and that they should pretend it was just "a bad dream". Evan expresses his thoughts on whether it really is just a mere prank or if something supernatural is actually going on.
"Slushpops and Suprises" is a non-fitness related video which shows the gang hanging out. At the end they find a card with coordinates on it, A viewer known as TheGreenFeathers went to the coordinates and found a box containing cryptic phrases and defaced photographs of the HYBRIDs.
The last video in the fitness series is "Self Defense", which featured numerous instances of the non planned Slenderman, the HYBRIDs also announced a fan contest of who could make the best EverymanHYBRID promo.
Jessa's Disappearance[]
The video "Joke's Over" is uploaded, it features the gang filming a hiking video. Slenderman appears behind them, and Evan chases after him, though he disappears, and the crew find trash bags full of blood hanging in the trees. At the end of the video, Vince addressed the camera and said that Jeff had called him after they returned from the hiking trip to say that he was leaving for a while to “look for something.” Vince noted that he called Jeff’s girlfriend Jessa, but got no answer.
Eventually, it was discovered that Jessa had gone missing between the 8th and 15th of August. After Jeff had been gone a few days, Vince and Evan launched a search for him on Twitter using the hashtag #wheresjeff (detailed in the video "Jeff.”) Jeff re-emerged on twitter shortly thereafter, asking everyone not to "follow [him] too deep", and saying that he had some things to investigate.
After Jessa had been missing for several weeks, Jeff began to blame her disappearance on her friend Damsel. After a very public spat with Damsel on Twitter, Jeff contacted the police and convinced them to take Damsel into custody to question her about Jessa. While searching for Jeff, Vince and Evan find a USB drive in his room. Jeff uploads a video of him in the ruins of his old elementary school retelling a horrific memory of him being forgotten when a fire broke out. A new hidden video (With the title ".-", morse code for "A") is discovered with disturbing imagery cut with Jeff visiting the wife of someone named Dr Corenthal, asking about a patient of his called nicknamed "HABIT". The woman tells him the Doctor has died. Again, this strange video is not acknowledged by the HYBRIDs. In the flash drive found in Jeff's room they discover a video called "78of76.avi", which shows them knocking down the door from the building they find in the A Day in the Life video and inexplicably transporting to a beach at night. Evan and Vinny say they don't remember this happening at all. Jeff uploads a new video checking in with the viewers, explaining he got arrested for punching a security guard, and that he's looking for a name that keeps showing up on papers he got from his old school, Dr. Corenthal. Jeff later finally reunites with the rest of the gang, and they all search the abandoned school together. They find a mysterious document from someone called Linnie describing an inhuman creature. Slenderman appears with none of them noticing. When the footage from the school ends, Evan expresses his belief it's the real Slenderman, and his desire to kill him.
Jeff is sent a postcard which gives the hint of a "Land of Ashen Waste" as where they might find answers. They decide to visit Lambertville High School as seen in "Cops Checked, No Body". On the way there they reveal that they can't see the strange videos with the morse code titles that were uploaded to their channel, and their friend Jessie reveals that Dr Corenthal is her uncle. When they arrive, they find a body on the ground. When they approach, they find a note in her hand, and see the Rake. The boys called the cops, but when they arrived the body was gone.
Jeff later posts a video montage in honor of his missing girlfriend. Evan posts a video speaking out against Jeff calling the cops on Damsel for thinking she had a role in Jessa's disappearance.
Whilst Damsel is in the psychiatric hospital, a pre-scheduled post is posted to her blog, where she claims she had nothing to do with Jessa's disappearance. Damsel then reveals she has been followed by Slenderman since she was a child. And that one day, she came home to find her family's remains put into hanging garbage bags, like the ones seen in Joke's Over. She then reveals she brought the bags into her house, and after laying with them for awhile decided to burn her house down. She then claims Slenderman told her to go "north," and that's how she ended up near the Hybrids.
A video is leaked of the gang congratulating a viewer named Magus for winning the contest they announced in their "Self Defense" video. The video is cut with footage of Jeff and Vinny walking around at night. Jeff sees Jessa, but Vince tackles him because he saw Slenderman. Jeff is shocked on Twitter about the video, seemingly having no memory of these events.
In the video "Ashen Waste", Vince reads the note they found, in which someone named Linnie writes of her search to find a group (Presumably the HYBRID crew). Coordinates are revealed for the third box. Vince then shows footage for their search for the Ashen Waste, this time at the location of a fire in Brooklyn, NY, in a place actually called an Ashen Waste in a news article. While there, they run into Slenderman, who Evan attempts to attack with a bat. Evan is injured in the attack. While looking for a hospital, they find Slenderman in the middle of the road, and attempt to ram him. Instead, they are transported back home in their basement. Alex later posts a video talking about how they found that Jeff's papers (from his old, burnt down school) were shredded and left in a trail that led to Alex's closet. The coordinates of a bag were revealed.
Inside the bag was a bottle of Powerade, a letter addressed from a "William" to Linnie that tells her to find the EverymanHYBRID crew, and a second 1970's report from Corenthal. The letter discusses his disturbed child patients named Vincent, Evan, Jeff, and a redacted girl's name, and reveals they are from a mining town "of ash". The gang thinks they have solved the riddle of Ashen Waste and head to "Centralia", a former mining town where the coal mines under it were accidentally set on fire and forced the residents to leave, making the town abandoned. Jeff finds Jessa's necklace and gives up on her, accepting that she is most likely dead. They promise to find Damsel, and end this.
Alex uploads a video with his arms slashed. He then follows up with an explanation, describing The Rake, having encountered it in his bedroom at night. The fourth hidden video (Titled "....", morse code for the letter "H") is posted. This one doesn't seem to reveal new information like the other ones did, but ends with the text "His loss blinds him" in reference to Jeff's loss of his girlfriend and what is happening to his brother Alex.
Evan receives a USB drive in the mail. One of the files shows footage of the Rake in Jeff's house. Evan investigates, and discovers Alex's wounds. He informs Jeff, who has been depressed since he realized Jessa is gone for good, and was not paying attention to his brother's troubles. They search in Alex's closet (where there is a crawlspace) and find Vince's cell phone. They then hear growling noises and lock the closet door up with a chain. After that, Jeff seemed to go through a personal revival and was much more upbeat and optimistic in tweets and other communications. He also began to express regret for having been a part of Damsel’s commitment and vowed to rescue her.
The Seven Trials of HABIT[]
The crew announce a fan meetup, and TheGreenFeathers (the viewer who found the first box) is the only one who shows up. The crew along with Jessie and TheGreenFeaathers hang out in Princeton. After TheGreenFeathers leaves, Vince gets a frantic phone call from their friend Ryan, who appeared in the "A Day in the Life" video, during the car Ryan seemingly gets in a car crash.
In the next video, the HYBRIDs are at a small makeshift memorial for Ryan who has died in what is officially called a car accident, and Jeff says when he saw the body it seemed like Ryan was pulled from his car and torn at by something. Jeff explicitly states that whilst the police thinks it looked like Ryan hit something and was ejected from the car, the glass from the window was all inside the car, as if something had jumped in. They explain that they received an email from Ryan saying how someone emailed him asking him to fill out an application. The person who claims to be known as HABIT then asked Ryan for a pint of blood, and Ryan refused. The crew put up the email application and say they're going to register. Interspersed into the video is footage of Evan speaking to apparently thin air, with Evan talking about how he got "him" his fishes and how he wants to see blood, with Jeff finding him and asking what's going on. None of the HYBRIDs seem to notice this footage.
HABIT creates his own Twitter account. He claims to be some sort of personification of all human violence and atrocity.
231 rabbits (EMH viewers) sign up for what is called The Seven Trials Of HABIT. The tournament was split up into three groups: The Angoras, The English Lops, and The Netherland Dwarfs. The tournament involved 7 trials that mostly involved the theme of personal sacrifice. During the November 26th UStream, it was revealed that Jeff was Rabbit #002, Evan was Rabbit #003, and Vince was Rabbit #004. At the time, Jeff said that Alex had been forbidden from enrolling in the trials, but Alex did so behind Jeff's back, becoming Rabbit #231. Though the boys chose to post their videos for Trial One privately, Jeff revealed in Angora Chat that he had buried Jessa's necklace "near an old viaduct where [they] went to a picnic one time." Jeff was eliminated during Trial Two when he volunteered himself, Evan, Vince, and Alex to be part of the 15 rabbits that the fallen leader of the Netherland Dwarfs got to eliminate.
Evan and Vinny reveal to the audience for the first time on a livestream that Jeff and Alex's are dead. They died around the same time when they started making fitness videos. They claim they don't like bringing it up because Alex is having a hard time accepting their deaths. Jeff explains they've been surviving off of his parents' life insurance money and relatives' help.
Once the HYBRIDs finally find that the Damsel is at the hospital Jeff works at, in the psychiatric wing. They break her out, with Jeff tackling a security guard. We then find out her real name is Stephanie and that she was scheduled to be released from the hospital that same night.
After the events of the previous night, Jeff goes to his work to find an email announcing that donations for his co-workers Glenn and John's families will be collected. It turns there had been an accident with a flashfire that killed two employees that night, which occurred five minutes before they had broken Damsel out. Even though Jeff had tackled one of them on video after his death. Later on that day, Jeff asked his work about Damsel and is told that she had been released a week earlier. Even though the boys broke her out just yesterday. He has no explanation for these new series of events, as it seems time itself has been manipulated with. Jeff then commented that having the four of them together, including Damsel, feels like “a family.”
2011[]
After a few weeks of no updates, the Hybrids post "December & early January" as a brief summary of all that has happened. Vince and Evan attempt to change Steph's voicemail as a prank and hear a disturbing message from Jessa being chased by Slenderman and screaming, confirming her death. They ask Steph for advice, but she says she knows just as much as they do about Slenderman. Jeff said in the description of the video that he simply regarded Jessa's voice message as "closure."
The crew post the until-now corrupted video "77of76.avi", which was on the same USB as "78of76.avi" that was uploaded earlier. The location is the same as "A Day in the Life" but clearly during the fall/winter time. We see Jeff, Evan, and Alex who seem to be in search of something but it is unclear what exactly it is. The crew again claim they have no memory of this.
In "The Hidden Videos", the HYBRIDs and Steph record a video of themselves watching the Morse Code Videos on a burned DVD sent to them by a fan. The videos quickly turn to static, and the HYBRIDs space out and speak in the voices of the Mining Town Four, apologizing to the Doctor for "playing a game", involving Slenderman transporting them somewhere. They directly quote a letter from Corenthal written in 1975. They wake up 8 minutes later passed out, bleeding from their noses and ears.
Evan, Alex, and Jeff attempt to search Alex's room for The Rake. They crawl through the crawlspace in his closet and somehow transport to the basement from 78of76.avi at Baldpate.
Jessie shares information she found about Dr. Corenthal among her grandmother's items with the HYBRIDs, including information about a storage locker and a key. They go to the storage locker, and find bullets and knives, a rocking horse, and a strange device which looks like a radio. The door to the unit shuts on them and they are unable to get out. While in there, Vince starts bleeding from the mouth and Slenderman appears. The door then opens to reveal daylight, and Dr. Corenthal brings the rocking horse in, taking no notice of the boys in there, and apologizing to the the kids for failing them again.
Around the same time, a post appears and is quickly deleted on the EMH Twitter. The post was coordinates that led to Memory Town, PA, a place mentioned previously in one of the Corenthal letters. There, the fifth box was found by a viewer known as "Lookbehindyou." In the box was a copy of the 15th-century morality play Everyman. Written inside the copy of the play, were hand-written lines that seemed to be a prophecy. It talked of characters known only as the FIREBRAND, the GUARDIAN, and the VOYEUR, who will in a series of events kill each other. Many saw this as the events the EMH crew must keep repeating in their lives in what fans called the Iteration Theory, where the Jeff, Evan, and Vinny and Stephanie are stuck in some sort of loop of reincarnation, doomed to repeat this prophecy over and over again.
Following a clue from the storage locker, the gang go to a library and find information regarding Dr. Corenthal, and take notes regarding his rather roller-coaster life after he adopted The Mining Town Four, patients of his who share the same name as the 3 HYBRID boys and Steph. He had been honored by his town, and also wanted for murder. Following this, they try to contact Officer Matten who's name had came up in notes, but it is discovered that he had committed suicide the year before. Later that night, the Rake captures Alex's dog in the shed and uses her as a "lure" to attract Alex. Evan tries to get Sparky back but is attacked, and Sparky is killed. It is also revealed that Alex still thinks his parents are alive and uses a boombox with prerecorded audio to communicate with them, as he cannot cope with their deaths. We later learn that Alex and Jeff's Parents died after their car went off a bridge into a river from a letter Jeff sent to a viewer.
HABIT releases the seventh and final trial: "TRIAL SEVEN: KEEP YOUR BODY BREATHING." 7 Rabbits remain in the trials.
The Period of Prophecy[]
Another strange hidden video (Titled "-.-.", Morse code for "C", making all the hidden morse codes video titles spell out "Chaos" backwards) is posted that shows Jeff, Vince and Evan in a candlelit shack discussing aspects of the series in a detached way, as if the events of the series were happening to someone else, or to some other version of themselves as they watched from "The Candleverse" as viewers nicknamed it. This video became the prime evidence for the Iteration Theory. The video was filmed by an unseen fourth person, which Vinny refers to as a thing. The video ends Jeff getting attacked by an angered Evan.
Evan and Alex test the Black Box Device in a video, the strange radio-like device found in the storage unit among Dr. Corenthal's things. Evan uses it in a manner similar to a Geiger Counter to detect the presence of Sigma Radiation in his and Alex's blood. Only Evan's blood goes off. Off camera, they test the rest of the cast, and they all test positive for the radiation including Jeff. The radiation seems to come from supernatural entities like Slenderman.
Noah Maxwell of TribeTwelve later comes to visit and they all sit down to discuss Slenderman and their possible connections through Dr. Corenthal.
HABIT releases two new videos, seemingly to punish the boys for seeking outside help from Noah. in "HALLOWEEN HANGOVER" a series of events are shown revealing Jeff spiraling into sadness again and attempting suicide through overdose. Jeff seemingly succeeds, but it is implied to be an alternate iteration.
Jeff begins to withdraw from the group, and from the fans, admitting in "Hidden Cameras and Emails" that he has been deleting mail from the fans without sharing it with Vince and Evan. Vince finds and seemingly removes several hidden cameras he has found in their homes, like the ones that had been used to record Evan killing Nick.
2012[]
The boys go to Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania to visit Jessie and on the way discover that she is under attack by the Rake. Evan goes in her house to try and save her, fighting with the Rake himself. He eventually throws the Rake off the second story window, right in front of Jeff and Vinny. Jeff runs away but eventually returns to scare the Rake off using an airhorn. Evan later comes out of the house and confirms the Rake killed Jessie by tearing her apart. Vinny convinces Jeff that that they should still upload the video.
On the way to Jessie's funeral, Alex and Vinny talk about recent events, and Alex admits that the Rake has been telling him things while he sleeps, telling him about events like Jessie's death before they happen. Vinny and Alex are then attacked by Slenderman, and Alex is assumed to be killed, as we see another garbage bag leaking blood hanging from a tree. In 2018 unseen footage from this video was released, footage seemingly removed by Vinny. In the footage Alex reveals to Vinny that the Rake had told him that "the good one", implied to be Jeff, was going to die soon and that Alex should stay away from Vinny and Evan. Alex's death causes Jeff to withdraw even more and he asks Vince to stop filming.
Vince eventually draws Jeff back out by going over their old production notes with him, ostensibly looking for clues to their situation. They remember that Maryann Corenthal is still alive, and Jeff makes a connection between her and the house at Baldpate Mountain they first encountered in "A Day in the Life". Jeff goes to Evan's house to get him so that they can all go to Baldpate, but when he arrives he is attacked by HABIT who is possessing Evan.
Vince later goes and investigates but finds only a bloody sheet in Evan's basement, and evidence that Jeff had been chained to a post. He is scared off by Slenderman. HABIT releases a photo of Jeff on Twitter, bound and bloodied, enticing their fan The Green Feathers to come and find Box 6.
In the next two videos, "MOVING IN" AND ":D" it is finally confirmed that HABIT has been possessing Evan's body for a long time now. Using him at will for his goals. He has locked Jeff in the attic, and talks to him. HABIT explains that the cameraman is merely a tool, not a person, before turning his focus fully onto Jeff. He taunts Jeff about his intelligence and persistence, suggesting these qualities are exactly why he's being targeted. He contrasts Jeff with Evan, who acts impulsively and Vinny, who takes on the leader lore, framing Jeff as the thinker of the group. HABIT reveals that Jeff, along with Dr. Corenthal and Stephanie have a resistance to psychological control from Slenderman, which frustrates him.
As the monologue continues, the scene cuts between HABIT and increasingly graphic shots of Jeff being beaten and mutilated. HABIT explains that the group has been systematically broken down over time to reach this moment where Jeff is physically and emotionally vulnerable. He claims that even with all his family dead, Jeff still has something left to lose, and promises to strip that away as well. Despite Jeff’s defiant remarks, HABIT mocks him, equating his resistance to the meaningless final cries of an animal. The video ends with HABIT turning to the camera, stating that "it's about to get a lot more fun in here", signaling that the worst is still to come.
In "Next", Vinny addresses the viewers, saying he is now the only one left now and isn't sure how much time he has. He then shows a video that HABIT sent him, in which he lights a barely alive Jeff on fire and presents him to Slenderman in a forest.
2013[]
In a crossover with TribeTwelve in the video "Bridge to Nowhere", Noah is transported into the Candleverse, where he is stalked by HABIT and eventually encounters Jeff. Noah is confused, as he knows Jeff died a year earlier. Jeff tells Noah that his best course of action is to stop recording and kill himself, as there is no way to "win" his situation and it's the only thing he can do to help anybody. Jeff then runs away once he spots HABIT.
2018[]
All Good Things[]
In "The drive west.", Vinny is on a road trip to the Fairmount Children's Home in Ohio. During his journey he sees "Jeff" on the side of the rural road he is driving on. Vinny stops, and "Jeff" tells him if he's ready for the "night hike." Vinny, believing this to be an illusion, tells Jeff he is dead before driving away. Vinny later encounters "Jeff" in a forest, who begs Vinny to come help Alex who is hurt and is "just over the hill." Vinny tells "Jeff" that he is "not real" before running away. "Jeff" yells "You could have fucking saved us!" at Vinny. Vinny continues to wander the forest, but the camera starts to distort, making Vinny start to run. Vinny is suddenly transported to the same beach in 78of76.avi, where he sees "Jeff" wandering around begging for help.
In "Finding Fairmount." Vinny finally arrives at the Fairmount Children's Home. There he encounters "ghosts" of what seem to be previous iterations of Jeff, Evan, and even himself who also traveled to Fairmount. In "Half-acre of ash" we see that the real Jeff has reunited with Dr. Corenthal in the Candleverse/Eden. Corenthal tells Jeff and Evan that "shit is coming down" and that the two of them need to get to the "tower" very soon. We then see Jeff and Evan near the power line tower previously seen in "77of76.avi", though they look much younger. Jeff asks Evan what he should "say," Evan tells him to say "stop watching." This explains an unsigned tweet sent on the 29th of November 2010, it was Jeff in the Candleverse. We later cut back to present Jeff and Evan along with Corenthal, who tells them they only have five minutes to make the "connection" in order to stop something bad from happening. Jeff and Evan say goodbye to Corenthal, referring to him as dad, and split paths.
After the events of "All good things" Vinny wakes up in the Candleverse version of the tree in Baldpate. Jeff along with Dr. Corenthal and Evan greet him and help him up. Vinny tearfully apologizes to Dr. Corenthal for not heeding his advice to stop listening to HABIT. Dr. Corenthal forgives him. Dr. Corenthal takes the camera from the unseen cameraman, and asks Vinny what they should do with it. Vinny tells him "We don't need it." Dr. Corenthal puts down the camera, and the HYBRID crew along with Corenthal walk off into the distance, awaiting the next cycle.
Alternate Iterations[]
Fairmount Jeffrey[]
Though previous Corenthal Papers had referred to children who had the same name as Vince and Evan, no child named Jeffrey had been noted. In the Corenthal Letter dated 10-27-1981, however, Corenthal referred to his adopted children as “The Mining Town Four", and a child named Jeffrey is listed among them. He is referred to by fans as Fairmount Jeffrey, and Corenthal described the boy as a writer, saying that he had written a small collection of short stories. In the Corenthal Report dated 12-14-1971, Corenthal detailed the events that led to Jeffrey being sent to the Fairmount Children's home: the previous Christmas, Jeffrey had been witness to his father coming home and killing his mother and sister, and subsequently himself, with a shotgun. Jeffrey actually witnesed the deaths of his father and his sister, Ellie, but his mother died in the kitchen, out of his line of sight. When Jeffrey asked his father why he had killed Ellie, he replied, "The Man made me do it." Corenthal's report also describes a Christmas ornament that Jeffrey and his father had made together.
Later, in the Corenthal Christmas Letter, Corenthal described Fairmount Jeff and Fairmount Vincent as having a relationship built around practical jokes and camaraderie. Fairmount Jeffrey and three other children were adopted by Dr. Corenthal and his wife Maryann, and taken away from the children’s home. He described the four children as being "haunted by personal demons". When this letter was received, it had a Christmas ornament with it. The ornament fit the description of the ornament made by Jeffrey and his father.
The "The Hidden Videos" — in which Steph, Evan, Vince and Jeff seem to speak in a trance as the young Corenthal children — added credibility to Iteration Theory by suggesting that Jeff was a reiteration of Fairmount Jeffrey.
Princeton Jeffrey[]
To be added.
Sub-Iterations[]
For more information see: Sub-Iteration Theory.
"HALLOWEEN HANGOVER" Jeffrey[]
In "HALLOWEEN HANGOVER" security camera style clips of Jeff in his room are shown. In these clips he stares Jessa's necklace, before taking a bottle of pills and swallowing them all. In "Twenty-four months" we see the aftermath of the earlier clips, as Jeff lays motionless on the ground. This series of events does not fit anywhere within the timeline, so it is assumed it is an alternate iteration of Jeff who was unable to overcome Jessa's death, committing suicide through overdose.
"A Vinny/HYBRID Christmas" Jeffrey[]
In "A Vinny/HYBRID Christmas" clips of Jeff and Vinny driving are intercut within the crew's Christmas celebration. In these clips Jeff vents to Vinny over his parents' deaths. Jeff feels like he should've been in his parents' place in the car, drowning in the creek. He also states how he feels like Alex is losing out on a lot by not having parents, and that he is not a good fit for a guardian. Vinny tries to reassure him that he is doing a good job and that he is proud of both him and Alex for getting through these events, and that they all need Jeff. The two are then suddenly hit by a car.
In "Twenty-four months" we see the aftermath of these clips, the car has crashed and Vinny's glasses can be seen bloodied in front of the camera.
"Le premier cours" Jeffrey[]
In "Le premier cours" clips of Jeff and Evan walking in a field are shown. Jeff reveals to Evan how the other week in Princetown he got a 20 dollar ticket. Jeff went to pay for it at the police station, only to find no one there. The clips is then cut off abruptly, before picking up once again at the end of the video, though at a later point. Jeff reveals to Evan how he woke up with his brother in the bedroom next to him, the dog fine and all the utilities paid for, but states that it "doesn't matter". He then questions Evan what color Jessa's hair was, to which Evan hesitates to respond, implying neither of them remember.
It is believed this is another alternate iteration of Jeff, one who figured out the iteration theory. He is wearing optical glasses, which Jeff had never before or since been seen wearing. Neither the crew nor Jeff himself had ever mentioned eyesight problems.
Personality[]
Jeff is the more introverted and quieter of the crew. He is the most even-keeled of the boys; unlike Evan, who reacts strongly to stimulus, and Vince, who purposefully ignores it, Jeff takes events in his stride. However, as the series progressed, Jeff became more apathetic due to the personal losses he kept suffering.
He was the smartest of the group, as stated by HABIT both in mocking tone and somewhat admiration.
Speculation[]
- Jeff killed Jessa under the Slenderman’s influence.
- Jeff’s parents were Slenderman victims (it has since been suggested that they never really existed).
- Jeff and Fairmount Jeffrey are the same person, somehow misplaced in time, reincarnated, or otherwise connected, confirmed to be true.
