Vince: Okay, let’s try something a little more experimental here. Uhm.. [He pauses and sighs] I’m going to give... you a call.
[Sound of Vince walking, and picking up a phone]
Vince [on phone]: Hey! Good! How are you? [pause] Yeah, yeah, I uh, I finally figured out how to, uh, you know, summon the cable guy ... and the phone company as well. [pause] Good, I have a- a nice basic package. I get most of the game shows and … uh, the news. [pause] Yeah, yeah yeah. [pause] No, every- everything is- everything is great. [pause] No, no I don’t- I- I am tired, but.. A really- yeah, yeah- no the center really has me, uhm ... working hard, but I appreciate what they’re trying to do and I appreciate what we’re doing together. It’s just... [Pause, then Vince chuckles] Don’t say that, it’s- it’s, I’m good. I am good, you don’t need to worry about me.
Anyway, how’s- how’s is grandpa? [pause] Oh yeah? [pause] Well tha- yeah that sounds just like him doesn’t it? [pause] Nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with that either. [pause] And there’s only a little bit wrong with that. So, I don’t think that we’re too far off from the norm, huh? [pause]
Uhm ... [pause] Soon. [pause] Yeah. [pause] No, I’ve- I’ve been eating. I’ve been eating. [pause] I am, uh, up to three days a week for that. And then I also have group every, uhm, every night, or every- I have it- I have it in the afternoon but by the time I get out it’s really dark so, I do that and then I have my individual. [pause] Yeah, yeah of course. [pause] It’s … It’s different. It’s not a life that I’m used to, and nobody likes anything new. So I just have to do it until it’s not new anymore, until it becomes the norm to be like this. [pause] No, no. [pause] That’s right, that’s what they’re saying, so. And I trust them, they’re all great, and I haven’t met anybody in the professional staff that I feel like is not going to help or is not trying to help at least, so it’s a good fit, really. [pause]
No. [pause] No, don’t- Don’t. [pause] If you’d like to, you- you have my address, you can absolutely send me a little care package, but outside of that you don’t need to... [pause] I know, I absolutely understand. [pause] Okay. [pause, then he chuckles] Yeah r-, I- I remember, yes. [pause] Alright, that wasn’t my fault and we all know it. [pause] Oh my god. [pause] Yeah, yeah yeah. [pause] Alright, well, now is not the time to talk about this. [pause] Yes, I am gonna play that card. [pause] Hmhm. Hey if God will it, right? [pause] Okay. [pause]
Alright, well I will let you go, tell grandpa I said, uh, ‘Hello, I love you, and keep it up’. [pause] Yes, absolutely, hmhm. [pause] Alright, you too. Bye bye.
[The phone beeps as Vince hangs up, then again when he places the phone back in the receiver. Vince walks away from the phone and releases a big sigh, then begins to cough. His coughing worsens.]
Vince: Okay, turn this off–
